Big Tree Campervans is a small, family business run by Simon and Sarah Yearsley, with some occasional help from their two young children. They are based in Bankfoot, a village eight miles north of the beautiful city of Perth and in the heart of picturesque Scotland.

The Yearsleys have always loved campervans and holidays in Scotland. Indeed, Simon has been a campervanning fan ever since his parents bought their first Dormobile called Polly in 1968, and drove the family off to explore Bulgaria for the summer.

Since then, Simon and Sarah have enjoyed many of their own campervan trips, both as a couple and as a family. Over 30 years, they have explored a multitude of places across Scotland, the wider UK and in Europe. They have enjoyed climbing, canoeing, walking and travelling in their campervans and under canvas.

Now they bring all this experience, as well as their unique enthusiasm, to their own Big Tree Campervan hire company. The fleet of two-to-four berth campervans has been designed to the Yearsleys’ own specifications and offer a truly modern, easy-living environment. Each campervan boasts lots of storage space, a powerful heating system, a two-ring cooker, a sink and a powerful fridge. They also come fully equipped with a home-from-home quality kitchen equipment.

Two of the campervans, which are all easy-to-drive, also have a dual-fuel system, which means they have a normal tank of petrol, plus an additional tank of LPG/AutoGas (that is

usually priced around half the cost of petrol).

Big Tree Campervans pride themselves on their fantastic customer service, and in offering excellent advice about all aspects of campervans, they guarantee that at least a little bit of their passion and excitement about campervans will rub off on you.

Their aim at Big Tree Campervans is simple: To help you to create your own adventure – and experience an unbeatable holiday exploring all the fantastic places in Scotland.

Simon Yearsley

Simon describes himself as “a passionate climber, alpinist, husband and father (but not always in that order!), and now the director of a fab campervan rental company – Big Tree Campervans, which is the fifth passion of my life”.  He’s been climbing for more than 32 years, and with his regular climbing partner Malcolm Bass, he has been on numerous successful trips to the Indian Himalaya and Alaska, as well as the Canadian Rockies and French Alps in winter. But he still loves coming back to the real test that is Scottish winter climbing. He’s contributed some fine additions to the Scottish winter scene, and as well as occasionally frequenting his local dry tooling venue at Newtyle, he specialises in big adventures in remote places, such as “The Long March” (VIII,8) on Foinhaven’s Lord Reay’s Seat; “Wonderland” (VII,7) on Beinn Bhan; and “The Road” (VI,6) on Seana Bhraigh.
